Hi guys, FlashlightNews.com has been offline for a week now, and Night Crawler hasn't answered emails. I sure hope he's ok.

I know he's had some health issues latley, and am getting worried something bad happened to him.

Has anyone had any contact with him sice FNF went off the air?

Thanks,

Kevin

He posted an update on FF a few days ago. Sounds like he's still trying to clear up all the problems that resulted from being hacked a couple weeks back. He's also been out of town, so things are taking longer than he had hoped.

Thanks for the info, GS. It is a good website. I hope they can pull out. They can park here if they need to.

Hi all!!

For those who have expressed some concern for my well-being, I say thank you...I really appreciate the sentiment but all is fine with me, although I've had some family issues that have pulled me away from home quite a bit over the past two weeks or so. The travel I've had to do (to Seattle and back more times than I like to think about - 450 miles round trip) has kept me from fixing all the issues that the FNF forum hacking caused/revealed.

For those that don't know, we were hacked in early July and again on the 19th. Besides the damage from the hacking, I found some backend issues related to our switch to a new DB server last fall. I'm pretty sure at this point that we have a full copy of the DB from the 19th, but it hasn't been cleaned up completely from the damage the hacking caused....won't know for sure where we stand on that until I finish fixing the forum software and the server issues are dealt with.

Just for clarity sake, I should mention that this whole thing appears to be a China-based hack attempt, and may or may not be related to some of the commercial activity on the forum. I don't think it was any other forum or 'disgruntled members'....but it's always possible. Doesn't really matter tho'...it is what it is.

Anyway, I'll try to post more info here when I can. I've also posted over at FF.com to keep folks updated through their forum.

Steve
