The Stags have locked horns. It looks like a Fenix dealer has, is in the process of, or has started a takeover by locking out another dealer out of selling any NiteCore products in Northern America. Maybe the Canadian dealer was not watching his back the other dealer was scratching a third back. From my view, it looks like maneuvering in the shadows. I have seen it before. We are still stinging from the last year of a few withholding, owning markets, yet begging for support; a monopoly with high profits for a few and we give them the money. I am not buying their products to support others.

Don’t they say that any publicity is good publicity? Money is tight and they are hungry again.

Wow, what can you say....that about sums it nicely.

I've just been amazed at the idiocy displayed in the ClearlyProfitFocused forum since the 28 gang took over. But, never under estimate just how far a little cash will go in buying the controlling interest in a forum; moderators, admins, owners all for sale, cheap.

Unfortunately, the average hobbyist believes they are visiting 'the' premier hobby forum, and do not realize that every post there is sanitized for the financial benefit of the operators. Nor do they realize they are contributing to, and supporting such non-competitive and antitrust activities.

The masses there will never believe the truth; they really don't want to. They want to believe the light they purchased is in fact the best available. After all, it did come highly recommended on the forum, and everyone has one, so must be the best.

Those that understand the truth, have already left the ClearlyProfitFocused forum, as they know it's mostly fabricated malarkey posted and tightly edited to generate profit.

I had to think about that myself a second, then I divided by 4 and got...

While I heard a lot, I hadn't found this thread yet. I got into this hobby over the stock lights. My first LED light was an SF U2, bought from the luxembourgish dealer, I had no idea about lights, I only knew Maglite before and had their stock LED dropins in my lights. Just after getting the U2, I heard about Fenix and saw that they offered double Lumen at a much lower price and of course I had to try... The way from Fenix to the 28-gang was a short one, their prices were unbeatable, buying directly in Europe was much more expensive. At that time, it still was Fenix-Store, I also discovered the EagleTac-Store quite quickly.

I'm a geocacher and that was the reason I came to the lights. Even if we don't do night-caches often, each Cacher must have a light, that market is becoming huge and most seek good throw (to find reflectors in the woods) in small size, powered by AA as CR123A have crazy prices in stores here and most GPS devices use AA, so we are already equipped with NiMh-LSD cells. My entry to the real things, the custom lights, was from Fenix and Co and I wish I'd come the direct way and never discovered the chinese junk lights, I still buy some, shame on me!

So, about a year ago I was a junk-light customer only, since then I've had a look behind the scenes and it is disgusting of course, I waqsn't really surprised, but I didn't know how bad it really is. The market has become a bloodsucking beast, it's getting worse and worse each day and you can be sure that whatever you buy from a big company, you contribute to make it worse. Profit is the magic word and there seems to be no limit anymore to make more of it, the big ones crush the small ones and eat them. The customers are disgusted if they hear about it, but they keep on buying from the worst, they don't really have a chance either, money is king and if you can save some, you'll do it.

Now, I have a hobby to get away from all this, but if I currently look on my showcase, I think that blood runs down many lights in there...

There runs no blood, don't be afraid!

I don't think you want to see Fenixes, Olights, Nitecores & Quarks... That's definetely over now, I preffer to add one Custom from time to time than lots of chineese lights constantly!
